Why We Don’t Tell People What to Do

July 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PDT

$47.00

Explore why understanding-based mediators refrain from telling people what to do and uncover the transformative potential of giving the power to the parties, using non-directive techniques rather than imposing solutions. Even when we might really want to step into the driver’s seat, supporting individuals to take ownership of the decisions made all the way through the mediation process will foster more lasting resolutions.

Join Catherine Conner and Ivan Alter on July 11, 2023 and gain a deeper understanding of why it’s worth taking a consistently non-coercive approach and how we can do it.

Legal Continuing Education:  The Center for Understanding in Conflict is an accredited provider of California Continuing Legal Education by the State Bar of California.  The Power Imbalance: The Power of Personality and Patterns training —appropriate for both newly admitted and experienced attorneys — will qualify for 1 participatory CA MCLE credit hour.

Please note California MCLE credit is only available for the live webinar and not for recorded sessions.
