Real Talk: Intentional Conversations Between the Races

October 5, 2019 at 9:00 am - October 6, 2019 at 5:00 pm PDT

Free – $750.00

The Real Talk team talking about race

How do you move beyond the feeling of being “stuck” when it comes to talking about race? What does a person need in order to feel seen or understood? How do we both invite and keep people in their seat at the table?  This experiential 2-day retreat is an opportunity to do just that.

We’ve spent over 2 years in conversation together about how to create safe, effective spaces to have dialogue about race and build relationships in the process. Come join us in reflective activities, really hard conversations, and the shared drive to get to the other side of being uncomfortable with what we don’t know.

You will:

-have less fear when it comes to engaging in dialogue about race
-have a deeper understanding of White Supremacy and your participation in it
-create genuine connections with people you never thought you’d be able to talk to about race
-eat a good lunch because we like good food! 🙂

We want you to not feel rushed in this process, so we are limited the number of participants. Sign up today!

The training will be an intensive experience, combining presentations, teacher demonstrations, small and large group discussions, self-reflection, and role plays of real life simulations. Participants describe these different modes of learning and their interplay as enjoyable as they are engaging and rewarding.

Comments from prior participants:

“It was rich, deep and intense. I’m grateful.”

“I loved the commitment of the facilitators.  It was incredibly powerful, inspiring, insightful and educational for the heart and mind.”

“The experience was a powerful wake up to my own biases and fears and tendencies to look over or walk past people I feel I am different from.”
