The Center for Understanding in Conflict will be offering an intensive program in Talloires, France from August 28- 31, 2018.  Gary Friedman and Norman Fischer will be the instructors.

Our Self-Reflection programs intend to train participants in ways of accessing their inner lives while working with clients in conflict that are constructive for the professionals and productive for our clients.  We will learn together about connecting with our deeper impulses that fuel our commitment to working with people in conflict – such as compassion and the search for greater self understanding and mutual understanding

The theme of the program this year will be Blame and Vulnerability. In these turbulent times, it is particularly important to recognize how both blame and vulnerability are inevitable in conflicts.  In this program we will work to identify, understand and work constructively with  both blame and vulnerability through deepening our own relationship with both.  It is particularly important to  recognize the relation between them to provide ourselves and our clients with a perspective that allows for a passage through conflict that responds to all of our deepest impulses and aspirations.

The program will be a combination of self-reflection exercises, role plays and didactic explanation.    All conflict professionals are welcome to attend, including mediators, lawyers, therapists and anyone who works with people in conflict.
